The latest feather in Damien's cap is the introduction of an App, 'DAMIEN LEITH STORYTIME'. It's available in the App store, cost $5.99 but worth every cent. Damien has written all of these childrens' stories and credits their invention to making up stories for their own kids. They are lovely little tales, the ones I have listened to with my grandkids each have a lovely moral twist at the end, great guidance for kids to understand right from wrong. And what can be better than listening to that heavenly voice of Damien's telling a story. Love the different characters he plays, some of the stories have his own kids playing a part.
Of course the Elvis Gospel show is beginning soon, first show at The Enmore Theatre in Newtown, Sydney on 6th July. Backing singers, big band, big production, and Damien's voice does justice to all the Elvis gospel favourites, including How Great Thou Art, Crying in the Chapel, American Trilogy (breathtaking). Prior to that there's a small solo tour where Damien will sing a range of favourites from all of his 8 albums, plus some which weren't even recorded, (pity).
Go to damienleith.com for all the tour dates and to find a show in your area.
Damien has been busy writing songs as well and I'm expecting there will be a new album later in the year.
He has made his acting debut in a film called "The Target" which is premiering in Melbourne at the Sun Theatre, Yarraville in September. It's a film about bullying and Damien, (believe it or not) plays a bully. From the previews I have seen he's darned convincing! The film is by Locked in Productions.
This same film company have just released a web video on YouTube which hilights problems suffered by everyday people, Damien and his three kids star in this one about a loved wife and mother who has schitzophrenia and the effect it's having on the family. Great stuff.
Hope you enjoy these tidbits and that you will spread the word, especially about the App and the Tour.
