Deep down you know you can be remarkable. You shouldn't settle for anything less than your best self, reaching ever closer to your potential - whether as a leader or in any other part of your life.

I guess no-one's up this late, but I need to record my impressions whilst they are fresh.
Mr Damien Leith (we are on formal terms these days. I'm Ms Trilly Tart) and the band were unbelievably brilliant tonight. We had the BEST night at The Palms and are all floating in that pleasant condition we call Teh Coma right now.
For once (and this is most unusual for me, as those who know me well can attest) I'm almost lost for words. I don't think I've ever seen Damien having so much fun onstage. He was in a cheeky, silly mood (the Swannies beating Collingwood, much to Di's dismay, may have had something to do with it) and was hilariously funny all night, as well as being in very fine voice. I found myself closing my eyes to listen, as well as being utterly jaw-dropped by his vocal gorgeousness this evening. Sure, that often happens to me and maybe it was partly D-Deprivation, but it was so wonderful to be amazed at his range, power and sheer vocal beauty yet again. Pretty freakin impressive, Mr Leith.
The band were rockin tonight too! Eric and the "Chilean Invasion" (aside- can I suggest that would make a killer band name?) were cookin! I am a huge Eric fan, that man can really play his guitar/s and tonight was no exception. So many of the songs were conducive to good ol fashioned guitar virtuosity and Eric never disappoints. The snippets of Live And Let Die ( at the right point, that is, Eric stuffed up and was made to Moon-Shuffle) we heard were dynamite as well as the many stunning solos and lead lines he played tonight. Not forgetting Cezar, Steve on drums and a special guest performer on charango and acoustic guitar. Michel Bastine, (sp?) and new dad (lucky to be awake) Chris on keys and mandolin.
Unless You Say So Won't Back Down NJFTW - very sentimental, with the new babies in the band. Eric's email is in the post, however. Here Comes the Sun- do n do do.... Beautiful - simply gorgeous, as usual You Got It Leah - god, I love this live. The flamenco intro is pretty cool too! I'll Be Your Baby Tonight - swwoon. Mr Sex On Legs. Running Scared- wow, those power notes! Wouldn't Change A Thing (dedicated to the "ladies in the front row") loved this acoustic version! D's vocals were pure emotional heaven. Hallelujah- never fails to impress Maybe Someday - just magnificent! Live and Let Die - a decent snippet! Handle With Care- awesome! Let Me Be Your Rescue- I really like this song End Of The Line - sounds great live All I Want Is You- heee, he he he he .... Summer Of 69- D and Eric began this song and we begged for more when they tried to stop- we got a couple more choruses and it was Fanfreakintastic! Encore: Goodnight - a few tears were shed. Got My Mind Set On You - much better live than recorded Pretty Woman- always gets the crowd involved. They adored it.
As usual, the Palms was pretty well full and the audience very appreciative. I think more than a few were return customers and we certainly saw a few people we've come to recognise over the years. (Hi Beth). People really seemed to appreciate D's originals, especially Beautiful, which gladdened our hearts. Mostly though, they got into it more and more as the gig progressed, clapping and singing along with gusto. Standing ovation at the end.
D signed afterwards and we had our chat and hug with a very happy and sweet Mr L.
PS. Must mention the support, Mick McHugh. I like his folky, down to earth style and music. "Time" is nice as well as "Lie To Me". He isn't Shakespeare, but is very entertaining and personable. Gotta love an acoustic guitar, harmonica and an Irish accent.

On the way home, we were all drooling over D and how awesome he'd been, when we were passed by a truck carrying livestock. Someone (no idea who) said "I hate those trucks - but I love lamb". Well, I'm sorry D, but the lamb just won in the stakes!!
