Yeah, have to admit I was in tears when I heard "Maybe Someday" Boy Damien can really hit the heights when he wants to
I just love this album to bits... the originals do stand out as mind blowingly wonderful, but the covers are good too, don't have the same effect on me though, but foot tapping, good listening, singalong songs.
The only song I'm really not so keen on is "I'll be your baby tonight" I said that from the snippets and stand by it with the full version. I'm sure it will grow on me in time - it's just my least favourite, probably because all the others are so
I'm blown away by this album, I'm loving the originals especially Maybe Someday, Let Me Be Your Rescue, 500 Reaons and Run, the covers are awesome too, I can't wait to get my hard copy so I can listen to it in the car, Damien you've done an awesome job I love the album

:'(I just want to hear it! I am so looking forward to hearing it, reading all of your posts I know I am going to be just captivated, and ...and ...and ...just the biggest country fan ever! Next time I will just go in store! Love and truly appreciate the signed copies, but always slow to get! My DS master 7 is so excited and can't wait to hear the new CD! Comment today.....Mum I think we have worn the other one out! Its good to start them early with their music appreciation Well done Damien! Again!
Well done Plugger, convert them while they're young!! You're gonna be blown away by this fantastic album. It's not country at all, just maybe a 'hint' of country in the Wilburys songs but I would never classify it as country. Originals superb.

Sooo excited..saw the Ad for Now & Then on Win TV this morning, it is fantastic! amazing ! brilliant! wow ! I was so blown away.. I forgot to record it Damm ! Not long to wait now Plugz...it will be worth it when we get that signed copy...you're doing a good job with DS ....he sounds like such a bright little boy
Absolutely gobsmacked by Maybe Someday! (pumping it as I write!)
Next is Let Me Be Your Rescue.. Brilliant! Loving the timbre of his voice.
Love the cover of Here Comes The Sun, as I said. It's laid back. just like George Harrison.
then, loving the Irish -sounding Unless You Say So. It has U2 echoes for me.. kinda reminds me of the long intro to Where The Streets Have No Name. Would love to hear this as the closer for the live gigs. The lyrics are so appropo and it's massively singalongable. ;D
One thing I'd like to hear live is D saying "right" in a tad less American accent in MS. haha! It seems the Nashville influence is showing after all!
The Beautiful remix is cool. It builds nicely and the piano is pretty but gotta say I prefer the versions we've been hearing live. The percussion at the end is a bit jarring, for me.
Oh and I like I'll Be Your Baby Tonight// haha, it seems I like anything D sings with the word "baby" in it! Want him to sex it up bigtime LIVE!
I Won't Back Down is growing on me too. Can imagine Eric going to town on this one live! ;D
Just enjoyed a long car trip on my own with Damien!! And what company he was!!
I'm really loving this album, and I agree that the originals really shine!! The words, the melodies, fantastic!!
My favs so far are Run (so lovely to hear Damien in duet!) and I love 500 Reasons - it definitely has a strong country vibe, but have to say I love it! , and I also really enjoyed Let Me By Your Rescue - massive emotional moment towards the end with Damien singing the big note - to me the full recognition that "After all that we've been through - I'm like a stranger standing next to you".
Maybe Someday, unlike everyone else, this is probably one of my least favs but I think it will grow on me. Damien's vocal range is truly impressive and it made me think that Damien would be fantastic in a rock opera!! Beautiful is lovely, but I think I like the old version - in fact, I would love to have heard the Damien/Eric/Indi live version of a few years ago recorded! Hopefully this song will make an impact on the charts!!
The covers are all enjoyable - my daughter kept replaying Got My Mind Set on You yesterday afternoon - she said she couldn't get it out of her head!! I also love "I'll Be Your Baby Tonight", really enjoyed this one when he was over in Perth recently.
To me, it's an album that is enjoyable, new yet familiar at first listen, and still lots of surprising moments after a number of listens!!!
Glawz, I'm still waiting for my signed copy in the mail, got a copy of iTunes yesterday - so I'll look forward to reading the comments on monday!

I've been listening to Now and Then on and off all day after downloading on Itunes last night, and brought my physical copy from Sanity today also!!! They had 8 huge posters hanging around the shop, and NOW and THEN was on top of two cd stands
The back cover is WOW!!! holy shit pick me up off the floor That is one gorgeous photo!!
Loved that Damien gave the Damienites a special mention, thanks D
I also noticed that only 3 songs were recorded in Nashville, "Maybe Someday", "End of the Line" and "Here comes the Sun".
ok, on with the music!!! ;D
End of the Line: I really love this song, always have and Damien has done it absolute justice!! Can't wait to hear this in concert
Beautiful: Is still gorgeous!! Sounds alot softer and I quite like the piano. I must admit I also like the version with the Indi intro and Eric mix. But it's still nice and loved it on YTT the other night.
Got my Mind Set on You: I really like this and it will go off at the shows also.
Maybe Someday: GORGEOUS!!!! and WOW at those high notes, jeez wonder how many lightbulbs D's had to change in his house!!! I think I was holding my breath when I got to that part! I'm not sure about it being a single though, more a belter with the band!! Love it though!!
Here Comes the Sun: A real crowd pleaser, a great sing along and love D's cover of it!!
Let me Be Your Rescue: BRILLIANT!!! Love it, Love it!! and those drums that come in, just get me going! and then, Damien draws from the bottom of somewhere and comes out with that awesome power in his voice and I'm just left going... This is one of my favs!!
I'll Be Your Baby Tonight: This is good, I almost feel drunk listening to it probably because I just heard the lyrics (bring that bottle over here) ok not really making much sense here Damien's version of this is quite Sexy!!! I like it.
I won't back Down: I love Tom Petty, so this was always going to be a great cover done by Damien! and he hasn't disappointed at all. Although, I do hear him almost (trying) to sound like Petty when he sings a few words, not sure if that's intentional or just hard not to do, as Petty has a unique sound.
500 Reasons: What a shock this is to me!! yesterday I really didn't like this song at all! Well blow me down, today it's the one song I've been listening to the MOST!! and I can't stop listening to it. I love how the music softens and you only hear Damien, for some reason, I love most songs that do that! not sure what it's called, but I love it! and this is such a grower and could overtake nearly all of them before long!! only thing I find annoying is the title, it reminds me of 500 Miles and I keep going to call it that!!
Leah: Lovely song, love the rich DEEP tones but the song isn't my fav cover. I suppose because it wasn't a song I'm that familiar with. I'd love Damien to write a song for that deep voice, it's so powerful.
Run: This song is great and it builds beautifully. Very catchy and I love the deepness of Damien's voice in parts and then those DRUMS kick in!! beautiful!! only fault, is I find Sinead? sounds quite countryish singing, and I think if it was just sung like the rest of the song it would sound even better.
I can't get it out of my Head: This one I'm not so sure about very country and I would of much preferred a version closer to the original I think, but in saying that, it could be fun at the shows!!! Yeeehaa!!
Unless You Say So: Out of all the originals, this one confuses me. I'm just not sure how I feel, I love the begining, soft and acoustic, then I feel it goes country all of a sudden, but then after a bit it's...no wait...it's Irish, and then there is a couple of parts in it that feel Polynesian with the clapping and harmonies!! probably just me right? wow what a mix! I love the lyrics they are great. It's a grower I can feel it! ;D
I think Damien's originals on this album absolutely shine through and are the stand outs for sure!! Brilliant concept having the mixture of Originals and Covers. Well done Damien, this really is another great album you can be proud of!
