Yes, I was Kazz. I thought the album would be too country for my taste and some songs are, but I'm loving it overall and D's originals especially have blown me away. He's so bloody clever! The way he's integrated this album is brilliant. I take my hat off to Damien and Stu.
I'm big enough *cough* to admit when I've made a mistake.
I still love his rockier music, but Damien can sing ANYTHING, his voice is so damn good!
This album is outstanding. Damien's originals are totally mindblowing. He has taken us all to a new high with his beautiful voice. So very glad that is isn't to country. Should have trusted Damien. Congratulations Damien on another outstanding album.
Just finishing my first listen and of course I love, love, love it!
Beautiful is just a gorgeous arrangement, and I love the ending. I like all the originals, but Maybe Someday is great - I think it has a real RJ feel to it. Not sure about some of the covers at the moment.
Shims, the cover notes say that Run is written by Damien, Stuart and Tommy Lee Jones, but the only singing credit is 'Backing Vocals by Damien Leith'. Two small gripes about the cover notes: the writing is very small for old people like me and there are no lyrics! I am crap at deciphering lyrics and that is one of the reasons I buy CDs and don't download from iTunes!
Thanks for that info about Run, Kath, what a beautiful song! I still don't have the physical album itself yet so couldn't read the notes or credits - cannot wait til I buy my physical copy and can see all the pics and leaflet insert.
I know just how everyone means about being in tears - same thing happened here, I've never heard a new album of Damien's yet and not felt that emotion upon hearing the new songs & what Damien can do with his voice - it just reaches out through the speakers and you're totally
I'm really at a loss to pick a favourite song because there's a lot I'm loving, but Maybe Someday, Let Me Be Your Rescue, Run, Unless You Say So & I'll Be Your Baby Tonight would have to be my top 5 I think...
Maybe Someday was a major OMG with massive surprise moments, wow... it surely has to be a single at some point, fingers crossed. Just loving finally being able to hear all this fantastic new music
